SHIPPING AND DELIVERY POLICY

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER
Builders Bazar is a B2B MARKETPLACE PLATFORM that connects Contractors with Vendors. We DO NOT:
Manufacture, store, or ship any products
Own or operate delivery vehicles
Employ delivery personnel
Handle physical goods at any point
ALL SHIPPING AND DELIVERY is arranged and fulfilled directly by the respective Vendors. This policy outlines the general framework and guidelines.
1. SHIPPING RESPONSIBILITY
1.1 Vendor Responsibility
The Vendor (supplier/manufacturer) is solely responsible for:
Providing accurate delivery address and contact details
Ensuring site accessibility for delivery vehicles
Arranging unloading if not included in quote
Inspecting materials upon receipt
Reporting issues within specified timeframes
1.3 Platform Role
Builders Bazar:
Facilitates communication between parties
Provides delivery tracking features (where vendors update)
Offers dispute guidance (non-binding)
Does NOT guarantee delivery performance
2. DELIVERY TERMS
2.1 Delivery Timeline
Delivery timelines are specified by Vendors in their quotations
Timelines are indicative and may be affected by factors beyond control
Holiday periods may extend delivery times
Force majeure events exempt vendors from delayed delivery liability
2.2 Common Delivery Terminologies
Term Meaning
Ex-Factory Pickup from vendor's facility
FOR Destination Freight included, delivery to site
Ex-Godown Pickup from vendor's warehouse
Door Delivery Delivery to specified address
Site Delivery Delivery to construction site
2.3 Delivery Charges
Delivery charges may include:
Transportation/freight charges
Loading charges
Unloading charges (if applicable)
Handling charges
Toll and permit fees
Any applicable taxes on services
Note: All charges should be clearly stated in the quotation.
3. DELIVERY PROCESS
3.1 Order Confirmation
After quote acceptance:
Purchase Order is generated
Vendor receives order notification
Vendor confirms order with expected dispatch date
Contractor receives confirmation
3.2 Dispatch Notification
When materials are shipped:
Vendor updates delivery status on Platform
Contractor receives dispatch notification
Tracking information provided (where available)
Expected delivery date communicated
3.3 Delivery Execution
Upon delivery:
Contractor/authorized person receives materials
Physical inspection at the time of delivery
Delivery challan/receipt signed
Contractor confirms receipt on Platform
Any issues reported immediately
4. PACKAGING STANDARDS
4.1 Vendor Requirements
Vendors should:
Use appropriate packaging for material type
Protect against damage during transit
Label packages clearly with contents
Include handling instructions where needed
Meet industry standards for construction materials
4.2 Special Handling
Materials requiring special handling:
Glass and fragile items
Chemicals and hazardous materials
Temperature-sensitive products
Oversize or heavy items
Precision equipment
Vendors must clearly communicate special requirements and charges.
5. DELIVERY ISSUES
5.1 Delayed Delivery
If delivery is delayed:
Vendor should proactively inform Contractor
Revised delivery date should be communicated
Contractor may cancel if delay is unreasonable
Platform is not liable for vendor delays
5.2 Damaged Goods
If materials arrive damaged:
Document damage with photos/videos immediately
Note damage on delivery receipt
Report on Platform within 24 hours
Contact Vendor directly for resolution
Retain packaging and damaged materials
5.3 Wrong Delivery
If wrong items are delivered:
Do not accept if identified before signing
Document discrepancy immediately
Report on Platform within 24 hours
Coordinate with Vendor for replacement/return
5.4 Shortages
If quantity is less than ordered:
Count items before signing delivery receipt
Note shortage on delivery receipt
Report on Platform within 24 hours
Arrange for balance delivery with Vendor
6. DELIVERY CONFIRMATION
6.1 Acknowledgment Process
Contractors should:
Confirm receipt on Platform within 48 hours of delivery
Provide feedback on delivery quality
Report any issues before confirming
6.2 Automatic Confirmation
If no confirmation or dispute is raised:
Delivery may be auto-confirmed after 7 days
This protects vendors from delayed acknowledgments
7. RETURNS AND REPLACEMENTS
7.1 Platform Position
Builders Bazar does NOT handle returns or replacements. All such matters are between Contractor and Vendor.
7.2 General Guidelines
Returns may be accepted by vendors for:
Manufacturing defects
Wrong items supplied
Quality not matching specifications
Damaged goods (if reported timely)
Returns typically NOT accepted for:
Change of mind/requirements
Delay in use by Contractor
Improper storage at site
Custom-made items to specification
7.3 Process
Contractor contacts Vendor directly
Vendor evaluates return request
If approved, Vendor arranges pickup or Contractor returns
Replacement or refund as per agreement
8. INSURANCE AND LIABILITY
8.1 Transit Insurance
Vendors are advised to insure shipments
Insurance responsibility should be clarified in quotation
Contractors may arrange additional insurance if needed
8.2 Liability

Platform No liability for physical goods
9. SPECIAL DELIVERIES
9.1 Bulk/Heavy Materials
For bulk construction materials (sand, aggregates, steel, cement):
Specialized vehicles may be required
Site accessibility must be confirmed
Unloading arrangements to be clarified
Weighbridge charges may apply
9.2 Hazardous Materials
For chemicals, paints, or hazardous items:
Compliance with transport regulations required
Proper documentation (MSDS, permits)
Trained handling personnel
Special packaging standards
9.3 Time-Critical Deliveries
For urgent or scheduled deliveries:
Express delivery charges may apply
Confirm feasibility with Vendor before ordering
Platform cannot guarantee urgent delivery
